A Regional Climate Action Plan
About the Plan
The Central Indiana Regional Development Authority (CIRDA) is developing a regional climate action plan. The plan, funded by the Climate Pollution Reduction Grant Program (CPRG), includes three core products:
- Priority Climate Action Plan
- Comprehensive Climate Action Plan
- Status Report
This program is funded by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Indianapolis MPO is assisting CIRDA with gathering commentary from residents, businesses, and stakeholders. IMPO is also responsible for communicating results of the planning process with members of the public.

Current Status
CIRDA has completed the Priority Climate Action Plan. The project team is currently working to develop the next product, the Comprehensive Climate Action Plan. The Comprehensive Climate Action Plan will include:
- Greenhouse gas emissions inventory and projections
- Strategies to reduce emissions
- Potential funding opportunities
- Community and low-income and disadvantaged communities (LIDAC) benefits analysis
- Workforce planning analysis
- Public engagement and low-income and disadvantaged communities engagement
