Why Local Planning Matters
Local plans are the backbone of the regional planning process. Comprehensive plans involve significant public involvement and determine the growth desires of towns and cities. These desired growth patterns provide planners and engineers with a direction for building land use and transportation projects.
For many residents of Central Indiana, the local plans are more important than the regional ones. MPO staff use these local plans as the basis for regional planning.
If you're a Central Indiana community and your plans are not included, please contact Jen Higginbotham.
