Regional Panels
During the creation of the Indianapolis MPO's Strategic Plan, panels of partner agencies and stakeholders were convened to collaborate on several high-level planning topics of regional importance. The MPO has served as a regional convener in Transportation for many decades, but will build on the recommendations of the Strategic Plan by continuing to maintain panels for Land Use and Housing, Economic Development, Water, and Data. These Regional Panels provide a conduit for the organization's four primary roles moving forward:
- Convene: Regularly bring together regional partners to discuss issues in their fields, to analyze data trends, better understand the root cause of issues, and to identify collaborative solutions that move Central Indiana forward.
- Inform: Set benchmarks and track data trends to support planning and policy-making. This includes hosting speakers and providing public education support.
- Plan: Use professional planning staff to document expert discussions, formalize strategies, adopt plans, and track implementation strategies.
- Fund: Identifying federal, state, and other third-party funding opportunities for regionally-significant projects.
