June 2006 CAC Meeting Summary

The topic of discussion  for the June 22, 2006 CAC meeting was the Coordinated Public Transit Human Services Plan. The new federal transportation bill passed on August 10th, 2005 (SAFETEA-LU), established a new requirement for the funding of projects under the Federal Transit Administration's Special Needs of Elderly Individuals and Individuals with Disabilities (5310), Job Access and Reverse Commute (5316), and New Freedom (5317) programs to be derived from a locally developed Coordinated Public Transit-Human Services Transportation Plan.

Attendance was good for the meeting, representives coming from a large percentage of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Area. MPO staff presented an overview of the Draft Coordinated Public Transit Human Services Plan and recieved good input and direction for additional development of the Plan. Following are several maps from the presentation, as well as a PDF file of the PowerPoint presentation shown at the meeting. The meeting was also taped for rebroadcast on cable Channel 16.

The two maps are not small enough to print on an average desktop printer, but those with slow connections should be able to download them with only a small delay. Please contact me directly if you have problems downloading any of these files and I will email them to you directly.
