Cat joined the Indianapolis MPO in August 2008 as a Transportation Improvement Planner. Her interests in planning are: coordination of transportation and land use, planning and design of multi-modal transportation systems, and creation of opportunities to educate citizens about the transportation planning, thus encouraging involvement in the process.
Originally from Wabash, Indiana, Cat spent three years attending Indiana University – Bloomington before traveling to Tallahassee, Florida. There she graduated cum laude from Florida State University in 2006, with a B.S. in Sociology and minor in Urban Planning. Cat stayed in sunny Tallahassee for two more years to attend graduate school at Florida State in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, and earned a Masters of Science in Planning in April, 2008. Her area of specialization within the program was housing and community development, and she also earned a Certificate in Urban Design. While attending graduate school, Cat worked part time with the Florida Department of Community Affairs conducting reviews of development orders and comprehensive plan amendments that affected state-designated environmental protection areas, such as the Florida Keys and the Green Swamp in central Florida.
Cat is excited to be back in Indiana with friends and family. She and her husband, Scott, live downtown Indianapolis where they thoroughly enjoy being able to walk to work. Outside of work, Cat enjoys music, traveling, and walking her rescued border collie, Chloe, on the canal.
