During the summer of 2009 Mike will celebrate his 30th year as a transportation planner and his 15th year at the MPO. He also spent 11 years as a Transportation Planner with the Indiana Department of Transportation and 4 years as Senior Transportation Planner with the Madison County Council of Governments, the MPO in Anderson, Indiana.

Mike is a native of Anderson, Indiana and has lived and worked in Indianapolis since 1983. He received a B.S. degree in 1978 from Ball State University in Muncie with a double major in Geography and Natural Resources and a minor in Urban and Regional Studies in 1978. Mike is a recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal while serving in the United States Air Force as an aerial photo interpretation specialist from 1968 to 1972. He enjoyed living in Denver, Omaha, and Honolulu while in the Air Force, but came back home to central Indiana to live.

Mike and his wife Chris currently live in Lawrence. They both enjoy gardening and traveling especially finding those little mom and pop out-of-the-way restaurants throughout Indiana and the Midwest.

Oversight of the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Process
Oversight of Planning contracts
Other special projects as assigned
