Cat joined the Indianapolis MPO in August 2008 as a Planner, and was promoted to Senior Planner in 2009.  Her primary responsibility at the MPO is to monitor current transportation projects and maintain the Indianapolis Regional Transportation Improvement Program (IRTIP).  She also edits and contributes to the TeMPO newsletter, manages planning studies, and assists with special projects as needed.  Outside of transportation, Cat’s planning interests lie in the areas of land use and urban design.

Originally from Wabash, Indiana, Cat spent three years attending Indiana University before transferring to Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida.  There she graduated cum laude, with a bachelor’s degree in sociology in 2006, and went on to graduate school in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, earning a Master’s of Science in Planning in April, 2008.  Her area of specialization within the program was housing and community development, and she also earned a Certificate in Urban Design.  While attending graduate school, Cat worked part time with the Florida Department of Community Affairs conducting reviews of development orders and comprehensive plan amendments that affected state-designated environmental protection areas, such as the Florida Keys and the Green Swamp in central Florida.

Cat lives downtown Indianapolis with her husband, Scott, where she thoroughly enjoys being able to walk to work.  When she’s not at work, Cat enjoys music, traveling, and playing frisbee with her rescued border collie, Chloe.
