Mike recently celebrated his 32nd year as a transportation planner and his 17th year at the MPO. He also spent 11 years as a Transportation Planner with the Indiana Department of Transportation and 4 years as Senior Transportation Planner with the Madison County Council of Governments, the MPO in Anderson, Indiana.
Mike is a native of Anderson, Indiana and has lived and worked in Indianapolis since 1983. He received a B.S. degree in 1978 from Ball State University in Muncie with a double major in Geography and Natural Resources and a minor in Urban and Regional Studies in 1978. Mike is a recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal while serving in the United States Air Force as an aerial photo interpretation specialist from 1968 to 1972. He enjoyed living in Denver, Omaha, and Honolulu while in the Air Force, but came back home to central Indiana to live.
Mike, his wife, Chris, and 15 year old stepson, Charlie, currently live in Lawrence. Mike and Chris enjoy gardening and have a short list of vacation trips that includes Colorado, Hawaii, Ireland and Italy.

- Transportation Enhancement (TE) Process
- Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) Process
- Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) Process
Mike is also Project Manager for the 2011 Safety Study and the Intelligent Transportation System annual update and other special projects as assigned.
